I have a soft spot for good, old-fashioned paper. During Interaction Design Fundamentals, the class created reports for real companies all using the same text on industrial ecology. We were allowed to edit the text as we saw fit and choose the typography, layout, photos, and structure. I chose University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to create this fictional report for because I was visually inspired by one of their buildings in my neighborhood. It was interesting to see how different everyone’s reports turned out given the same content, but different clients and therefore brands.

After reviewing, editing, and tailoring the text, I sketched out the main sections and potential infographics in addition to perfecting a color palette taken from the children’s hospital. The cover art also took many iterations and critiques to get just right, but I’m very happy with the result.
